How This Calculator Works
This tool applies the standard FMCSA Hours of Service rules for property-carrying drivers (Part 395.3). It checks four limits simultaneously and shows you which one you'll hit first:
- 11-Hour Drive Limit — Maximum driving time after 10 hours off duty
- 14-Hour Window — No driving after 14 hours since coming on duty
- 30-Minute Break Rule — Required after 8 cumulative hours of driving
- 70-Hour / 8-Day Cycle — Maximum on-duty time in a rolling 8-day window
